Intro

With the COVID-19 pandemic sending shockwaves to nearly all retailers and forcing major stores to close down, it is evident in the last year the focus has shifted to online shopping as a means to survive the brutal financial loss. A report by Alvarez & Marsal reveals a 21% increase in the frequency of shopping online. The pandemic has demonstrated the importance of retailers adapting to the changing circumstances and understanding e-commerce as a vital passage to securing customers.

Over the last decade, online shopping has become increasingly popular due to major tech giants such as Amazon and eBay leading the way for mobile shopping. Mobile screens adapted and screens were larger, internet speed became faster and online checkout became more efficient using ApplePay or Paypal.
